Dr. Arjun Kathayat is the Founder, President and Executive Director of the International Research Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IRIOSH), Canada, a federally incorporated not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing occupational safety, health, worker well-being, and sustainable workplaces through research, education, and international collaboration. Dr. Kathayat is also a PhD researcher in Occupational Safety and Health at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). In addition to his research and non-profit leadership roles, Dr. Kathayat serves as the Co-Chair of the Occupational Health Committee (senior management rep.) at Integrity Maintenance Ltd. and Chief Engineering Manager at IV Oilfield Water Disposal & Services Ltd. in Saskatchewan, Canada. Dr. Kathayat's research focuses on global occupational safety and health governance, risk management systems, inspectorate capacity, decent work, workforce resilience, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular interest in strengthening evidence-informed policy and practice across diverse regions and industries. Dr. Kathayat actively collaborates with international researchers, regulators, industry leaders, and professional organizations to bridge research, policy, and practice in support of safer, healthier, and more dignified workplaces worldwide.
