Dr David Rubens is a recognised authority on the strategic management of complex events, particularly within a multi-agency crisis management framework. He offers a unique combination of doctoral-level academic research and teaching, extensive commercial, operational and project management experience, and government-level and C-suite consultancy across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and East and West Africa.

In 2019, Dr Rubens founded the Institute of Strategic Risk Management (ISRM) to create a forum where academics, practitioners, and policymakers could collaborate on addressing critical challenges at global, national, and community levels. Under his leadership, the Institute has grown to include thirty-five international chapters, work with some of the world's largest organisations, and has established itself as an internationally recognised institute of significance and influence.
