Dr. David Tooch is an international relations and cybersecurity educator with extensive experience teaching university courses in the United States and South Korea. His work focuses on helping non-technical audiences understand cybersecurity as a governance, risk, and human issue, not simply a technical one.

With a PhD in International Relations, with a focus on security, and an academic background in geography and geospatial analysis, David takes a multidisciplinary approach to cybersecurity. He examines how cyber risk intersects with geopolitics, geography, physical locations, and the environments in which organizations operate.

His current work explores how geopolitical, geospatial, and cyber intelligence can be brought together to provide a more complete picture of risk and support better-informed decision-making. He is particularly interested in translating complex security issues into practical insights that non-technical decision-makers can understand and act upon. His experience in education informs his approach to digital security, which can be applied to helping educational institutions understand and address the broader risks that can affect their people, systems, and operations.
