Jai Prakash S/O Kanagersundram is a proven Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) leader and the Branch Manager for Contractor Safety Management at SMRT Trains. Driven by the core vision, "A Safe Workplace for All," he is responsible for safeguarding operational integrity by leading the strategic governance and execution of safety protocols across a high-stakes rail environment.

Jai brings a powerful and rare perspective to EHS, uniquely fusing deep regulatory experience with top-tier operational leadership. His expertise is forged from years as an ex-Workplace Safety and Health Inspector with the Singapore Ministry of Manpower, which provides an unparalleled understanding of compliance and enforcement. He leverages this background to advocate for pragmatic EHS solutions that transform safety into a vital, value-generating asset for any business.

A specialist in Contractor Safety Management and operational excellence, Jai is a highly credentialed professional, holding registrations as a WSHO (Workplace Safety and Health Officer) and FSM (Fire Safety Manager), along with certifications as an Internal Auditor for ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 Management Systems.

Prior to SMRT, his consulting work achieved significant impact for multinational organizations, including establishing robust H&S Committees and Emergency Response Teams, leading critical pandemic preparedness for major APAC offices, and conducting comprehensive EHS Gap Analysis Audits. Jai holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors in Safety from Singapore University of Social Sciences and actively contributes to the industry by volunteering with the IOSH Singapore Branch.
