John Cha, Regional Technical Manager for Promat Asia, holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Leeds University (UK) since 1998. He began his career as a Marine Sales & Service Engineer in Singapore before joining PROMAT in 1999. Over 7 years, he contributed significantly to Passive Fire Protection solutions, conducting inspections and fire testing across Europe and Asia Pacific. Transitioning to ROCKWOOL in 2006, he excelled as Technical Manager, later Senior Technical Manager, providing expertise to projects for Shell, Exxon Mobil, and others. His focus on thermal insulation and fire conservation in energy-intensive industries marked his tenure. Returning to PROMAT in 2014, he managed technical operations in Asia, leading research, and development efforts. Recognized for his leadership, he headed the Fire Laboratory for Fire Science Research Group MY in 2018, overseeing all testing activities. John's commitment to fire research and protection underscores his esteemed standing in the industry.
