Julian Tan is the Global Head of Security Operations at Dyson, where he leads the global security operations function responsible for protecting people, products and operational continuity across manufacturing, corporate, retail and the end-to-end supply chain. His remit spans security, risk, resilience, crisis management and intelligence in support of a globally complex operating environment.

With three decades of experience spanning field intelligence, special operations and global corporate security, Julian has built and led security functions across local, regional and global environments, often in complex and rapidly evolving risk landscapes.

Julian also serves on the Board of TAPA APAC as Treasurer, supporting the association’s governance, strategic direction and continued development of supply chain security, risk management and resilience across the Asia-Pacific region.

He has led teams through complex security incidents, crisis management, business continuity and enterprise risk programmes, while developing security intelligence capabilities that provide leadership with a common view of geopolitical, operational and supply-chain exposure. His work focuses on turning intelligence and risk insight into practical measures that strengthen organisational resilience and enable business continuity.

His leadership philosophy is straightforward: security earns its seat at the table not simply by preventing incidents, but by giving leadership the judgement and confidence to make better decisions when the stakes are highest.
