Dr Sussie Ketit is a sustainability and built-environment leader with more than 17 years of regional experience across the agri-food, livestock, engineering, and construction sectors in Southeast Asia.  

She currently serves as President of the Singapore Institute of Building Limited (SIBL), where she champions initiatives that connect sustainability, education, innovation, and industry engagement. 

As President of SIBL, Dr Ketit is spearheading the SIBL SG Eco Fund initiative, promoting the use of gamification to strengthen sustainability awareness and engagement, particularly among the next generation and the wider built-environment community. She is also championing fundraising efforts in support of the Department of the Built Environment (DBE), National University of Singapore (NUS), fostering stronger collaboration between industry and academia and supporting the development of future built-environment professionals. 

Alongside her professional leadership, Dr Ketit is a Business Development Manager at Big Dutchman, where she contributes to the advancement of modern, technology-driven and sustainable livestock production solutions across the region. 

Dr Ketit has a multidisciplinary academic background spanning engineering, sustainability, healthcare administration, and education. She holds a PhD in Problem-Based Learning, a Master of Engineering (Electrical), an MSc in Health Administration, and an MSc in Sustainability. She is currently in the second year of a PhD scholarship at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST), Taiwan, where her research focuses on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for Low-Carbon Emission Livestock Production. Her research seeks to develop practical, science-based approaches to measuring and reducing the environmental and carbon footprint of livestock production while contributing to more sustainable and resilient food systems. 

Her professional and research interests encompass climate change, ESG, sustainable development, low-carbon agriculture, livestock production, food security, international relations, and animal welfare. Through the integration of industry experience, academic research, and professional leadership, she has contributed to technology, agriculture, sustainability, and built-environment initiatives across Southeast Asia. 

In 2025, Dr Ketit was appointed Advisor to the Minister of Food Industry, Commodity & Regional Development, Sarawak, supporting initiatives related to sustainable animal feed, livestock development, food security, agricultural innovation, and sustainable food-production systems. 

Bringing together industry leadership, professional service, policy engagement, academic research, and sustainability advocacy, Dr Ketit is committed to translating knowledge into practical impact—advancing low-carbon solutions, strengthening food security, fostering industry-academia collaboration, and inspiring greater participation in sustainability across the built environment and agri-food sectors.
