Mr Cheng Tai Fatt joined Building and Construction Authority (BCA) in 2000.  He held several key management appointments during his tenure in BCA which included Group Director of Corporate Development, BCA Academy and Building Research and Innovation Institute.

He was instrumental in putting in place CORENET electronic e-submission building approval system. He was involved in formulating the BIM roadmap and Integrated Digital Delivery implementation plan in Singapore to drive the wide adoption of BIM across the built environment sector.

He is an active member of buildingSMART Singapore Chapter and was accorded as an buildingSmart International Fellows for contributions in adovcation openBIM workflows practices.

He left BCA in 2025 and is currently sitting on two built environment committees – Singapore Institute of Building Limited as Assoc Director and buildingSmart Singapore Chapter as President.
