Aegir is the water detection node of the ASGARD distributed detection architecture. It is in advanced development.

Two parts. A low-profile probe carries six hard gold-plated PCB electrodes — five at floor level, one high-water — on a one-metre cable, other lengths on request. A body carries its own pair of gold-plated electrodes, temperature and humidity sensing, and a three-axis accelerometer for tamper, movement and attitude change.

Detection reads water between adjacent electrodes on a dual scale, so weakly conductive water still registers. The design intent is behavioural rather than instantaneous: how long water is present, how often it returns, how hard the sump pump is working, not an alarm on the first drop.

Alerts cover leak, cold and freeze, heat, humidity, tamper and movement, and low battery. A 4 kHz piezo sounder gives roughly 78 dB at three metres. LED states: green standby, red alarm, amber trouble, blue wireless.

The node joins the same supervised ASGARD mesh as Heimdall and Gjallar, 1 km class in line of sight, roughly 250 m through built structures, two decks aboard ship. Installation takes three minutes with no tools: screw, 3M adhesive or magnet mount. Civil and defence variants.
