How Digital Linear Heat Detection Cables Work
Digital linear heat detection cables are constructed with two specially coated conductors separated by a heat-sensitive polymer.
Under normal conditions, the cable remains open and inactive.
When the cable is exposed to a specific temperature (for example, 70°C, 90°C & 180° etc.), the heat melts the polymer, allowing the conductors to come into contact and trigger an alarm.
Once activated, the affected portion of the cable must be replaced (hence, "non-resettable").
